DAN GEESIN is a filmmaker, musician and visual artist always using his divers pallet to tell his stories. His influences are drawn from the tragic and humorous ways people communicate and his love hate relationship with the city and the countryside. His stories usually have a melancholic undertone but are always approached with his very British humour.

His ability to use his own images and music intuitively in his storytelling is a rare gift. With this combination he transforms the indescribable into a tactile blend of humanistic familiarities.

Geesin has delivered more than twenty short films with different techniques for various venues, six music cd’s and has exhibited for more than twenty years as a visual artist all around the world.

ROTS FILMWERK was established by siblings Esther and Hugo Rots, to enable them to make their films without concessions. This partnership resulted in award winning films, two of which were nominated for a Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Their first feature ‘Can go through skin’ premiered at the Berlinale, Forum, won many awards including a Fipresci and Best Dutch Film of 2009.

Rots Filmwerk is currently working a.o. on the pre-production of ‘Mette’, the second feature by Esther Rots, and on ‘The Neighbour’, an ambitious VR project by Rudolf Romero Borgart.
